About
Meet the founders who could be tomorrow’s Top 10.
Student entrepreneurs from Junior Achievement and post-secondary institutions across Edmonton are coming together to put their ideas in the spotlight. Ten founders will have three minutes each to pitch what they’re building and make their mark.
Nick Blouin, Director of Programs at Junior Achievement Northern Alberta, will kick off the showcase with a few thoughts on getting young people excited about entrepreneurship, from risk-taking and ideation to developing their ideas.
Following the pitches, Nick will moderate a panel with leaders working directly with emerging founders:
Maryssa Iacobelli, previous Co-Managing Director of Nucleate Canada and PhD Candidate in Microbiology & Biotechnology
Daniel Taylor, Engineering Incubator Operations Lead, University of Alberta
Mohammed Al-Taqatqa, Regional Director, Business Development, Alberta, Futurpreneur
The conversation will focus on what student and emerging founders need to move from an idea to action, the role mentorship and support can play along the way, and how to build stronger pathways from high school through post-secondary and into Edmonton’s broader startup community. The panel will also reflect on the pitches and share advice, connections and next steps for founders as they continue building.
Stay for networking over lunch and connect with founders, mentors, investors, educators and community partners supporting the next wave of builders.
