Optimization for Control, Robotics and Production: Czech–French scientific workshop at CIIRC CTU
About
Researchers from Czechia and France will come together at the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC CTU) on 6 October for a scientific workshop exploring current challenges in optimization, control, robotics and production. The half-day programme will feature four research talks, bringing together experts from Czech and French institutions and providing space for scientific discussion and informal exchange. The workshop is jointly organized by the ROBOPROX and OPTIROB projects, with the Embassy of France in Prague as a partner in the wider Czech–French scientific exchange. The workshop follows a Czech–French scientific meeting at the Embassy of France on 5 October, continuing the programme at CIIRC CTU the following day.
Programme
The workshop will bring together researchers working on a range of topics connecting optimization, control, robotics and production.
08:30–09:00 Welcome coffee
09:00–09:30 Zdeněk Hanzálek (CIIRC CTU): Integrated Packing, Placement, Scheduling, and Routing of Personalized Production
09:30–10:00 Alessandro Agnetis (University of Siena): Job Selection and Sequencing on a Machine Subject to Unrecoverable Breakdowns
10:00–11:00 Coffee break and discussion
11:00–11:30 Mohab Safey El Din (LIP6, Sorbonne Université)
11:30–12:00 Tomáš Vyhlídal (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU)
12:00–13:30 Buffet lunch and informal exchange
The workshop builds on the close links between research in ROBOPROX and OPTIROB, bringing together researchers working on optimization, control and robotics in Prague and France. Both projects support research at the intersection of these fields, from scheduling and production to the control of complex robotic systems and advanced optimization methods.
While ROBOPROX brings together related research activities at CIIRC CTU, OPTIROB provides a framework for further developing the long-standing collaboration between research groups in Prague and Toulouse. The workshop extends this exchange to a
